Double Batch Brownies



Brownies are a classic dessert/treat/comfort food. They are probably one of my top 5 favorite foods. Chocolate+butter+sugar+eggs+flour = MAGIC.


I've had a LOT of brownies in my lifetime and tried too many recipes to count. The recipe that I love and always come back to is one that my mom developed over 25 years ago, selling these brownies at street fairs all over NewYork City. I'm telling you, they are THE BEST brownies ever. They are the perfect balance of fudgy and cakey, with pure chocolate flavor and no nonsense. Sorry, but the recipe is just not up for grabs.


Plain brownies are perfect just the way they are according to my kids. When my mom was selling at the fairs, she made six different variations: plain, chocolate chip, pecan, walnut, mixed fruit and nuts, and rocky road. These are tried and true flavors, but recently I experimented with a few new ones. You know, just because sometimes I can't leave good enough alone. Check them out below.
